In this episode of the Building PA Podcast, co-hosts Jon O’Brien and Chris Martin celebrate the winners of the inaugural 2024 Podcast Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions from past episodes.

As we reflect on our journey since launching the podcast in spring 2020, we also highlight the engagement from our listeners who participated in the voting process for the awards.

The first award presented is for the “Most Interesting Topic,” which goes to Steve Powers from Novingers for his episode on prefab construction. Jon and Chris reminisce about their field trip to Novingers, where they witnessed the impressive prefab process firsthand.

Next, we announce the winner of the “Best Advice for the Construction Industry,” awarded to Darren Rech from Alexander Building Construction Company for his insights on improving toolbox talk delivery. We emphasize the importance of this topic in keeping workers engaged and informed.

The third award, for “Best Community Impact,” is presented to Sonya Bohmann from the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. We discuss the significance of mental health awareness in the construction industry and share the behind-the-scenes effort that went into recording her impactful episode.

Finally, we recognize Chris Lalevee from Operating Engineers, Local Union 825, as the “Listener of the Year.” His dedication to promoting the podcast and engaging with our content has made a significant impact.

As we wrap up, we express our gratitude to all our guests and listeners, encouraging everyone to check out our extensive catalog of over 200 episodes. We invite listeners to reach out if they have topics to discuss or wish to be guests on the show.

Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we look forward to continuing to bring valuable insights to the construction industry!
